Honestly wouldn't take to long to build your own, but I'll let you decide that for sure. If I were spending $3400, that for sure isn't the case I'd pick.
Liquid cooling isn't something you should look at if you don't even have the time to assemble your own rig. If you're wanting to spend the money then a 3770K will be more than enough which would cut the price down a lot. maybe? What do you do work wise? Will it be something that requires a lot of CPU or Memory? Overkill to the extreme! So all you plan to do with this thing is surf the web, some stuff at word and make some videos with some possible gaming.
* is this a complete waste also? ASUS MOBO seems to have software to control fans Operating System - Windows 7 Professional 64 Bitįan Controller - Aerocool V12XT Large Touch Screen Fan Controller & Temperature Display

Thats alot, I originally though $2k but greed or misinformation has lead me to seek advice. I would like to stay under $3k but looking at cyberpowerpc, ironside computers, ibuypower (same company as cyberpower right?) I seems that what I "think" i need is coming in under $3.5k. So I want computer juice as best as is reasonable.īudget. and I've been given a mandate to go backwards 20 years and scan all family negatives and create such slideshow movies. When it takes 15+ hours to encode a 15 minute video on my current desktop, its time to upgrade. Making A/V slideshows with pictures, videos, sounds. Lots of applications running simultaneously, and gack.
I'm not a heavy gamer, not at present, but I have enjoyed them in the past, and one day I'll have time to play PC games again rather than Wii with the kids. So below is a high end system, but maybe its ridiculous, I dunno. So I tend to look for something more than I currently need, and get it to last until its I am past the years were I get new pc's often. That and extended warranty (at least from ironside seems worthwhile). That said, there are many things I "can" do, but with 4 young kids and heavy work schedule, the extra $100 or $200 to have someone do it for me, far outweights any joy or pride I"ll get in doing it myself. Even though I've not done it, I do know that I could find the help I need here, and elsewhere. I build PCs about 20years ago, but times were simpler then. I understand the build it vs buy it debate. A bit of background parameters that I hope will help to elicit some good replies. I've enjoyed reading many of the forums, though mostly I've been in this Off-Topic Computer forum.
